On this day, Baeksang Arts Awards opened its official website and announced the final list of nominees for each category of 3 sectors: TV series, film and theater. Song Eun-yi, Lee Mi-joo, Lee Eun-ji, Joo Hyun-young, and Hong Jin-kyung were named as nominees for the women’s Entertainer award.
The 58th Baeksang Arts Awards will focus on content provided on terrestrial, general and cable channels, OTT platforms and websites, as well as Korean feature films and plays released in Korea from April 12th, 2021 to March 31st, 2022.
Before starting the evaluation, the Baeksang Arts Awards held a symposium with experts from various areas in the pop culture and arts world, such as major domestic and global OTT officials, representatives of drama-entertainment-film production companies, pop culture critics, writers, PDs, etc. The Baeksang Awards this year analyzed production trends, such as the rapid change of content consumption patterns and methods of producing and releasing products then discussed reviewing criteria.
The preliminary survey of experts by sector was participated by 60 people, which is an increase of 20 compared to that of last year. Therefore, the final nominees were selected by judges of each category commissioned through the recommendation committee.
The Baeksang Arts Awards, the only comprehensive arts award ceremony in Korea that encompasses all sections of TV series, film and theater, will be broadcast live on JTBC, JTBC2 and JTBC4 from 7:45 p.m on May 6. It will also be aired simultaneously on the digital platform TikTok.
