SHINee member Key talked about his donation to a blood cancer patient

JTBC’s program “Newsroom” broadcast on September 17th showed SHINee Key, who recently made a comeback with his second mini album “Good & Great”, appearing as a guest and having an interview with announcer Kang Ji Young.

On the broadcast, Key was asked about the famous anecdote of him paying parts of the medication expenses for a blood cancer patient.

Previously, the YouTube channel “Ddeun Ddeun” posted a new “Pinggyegyo” content video featuring the guest appearance of Key and Ji Seok Jin. After the video was released, a netizen left a post saying, “Mr. Key of SHINee, thank you for supporting (a very large amount of) medication expenses for my son’s blood cancer treatment that were not covered by insurance. Thanks to you, my son is recovering well now. I want to express my gratitude to you once again”. The story spread widely among netizens and became a hot topic.

In response, Key humbly said, “I think my donation has been put to good use. I feel so relieved and proud”, adding “I hope that my good influence can grow bigger, not just to complete the things I must do, but also to leave a positive impact on young people nowadays”.

He continued, “I think I always want to do such things because I want to become a good and admirable adult”, adding “In the future, I will continue dancing, singing, doing variety shows, and seriously talking about the stories about myself like this. My final goal is to make everyone naturally accept me as this kind of person. I think it’s important to consistently show my true self to all of you”.

Meanwhile, Key released his new mini album “Good & Great” on September 11th.
