Shin Hye-sun Reveals She Found Comfort in ‘Welcome to Samdalri’ Script During an Exhausting Time

Shin Hye-sun has revealed the reason behind her decision to join the cast of ‘Welcome to Samdalri’

During the JTBC new weekend drama ‘Welcome to Samdalri’ online press conference held on December 1st, Shin Hye-sun said, “When I received the script, I was mentally exhausted. Although I read it with enjoyment and amusement, beyond the fun, I actually felt my heart warming as I read it.”

She continued, “I even reflected on my own life, and the portrayal of youths trying to find self-esteem resonated with me.”

Additionally, Shin Hye-sun shared her thoughts on the key points of “Welcome to Samdalri”, “The characters’ age feels ambiguous. Although they are older than me, the age difference is not that significant. Although the setting is 38 years old, it’s a vague age that can be neither considered fully adult nor completely youthful.”

She added, “The friends in our drama are all immature. They are of an age where they should be socially mature but still exhibit a lot of childish behavior. It feels like going through the pain of growth once again, and I find that aspect interesting.”

‘Welcome to Samdalri’ is a romance drama that unfolds as Samdal (Shin Hye-sun), who was born in a stream at the foot of Hallasan, loses everything and falls, then returns to the embrace of her hometown, meeting Yong-pil (Ji Chang-wook), who has protected the stream, and searching for love. The first episode will be released on December 2nd at 10:30 PM KST.
