On February 10, a production press conference for The Art of Sarah was held at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, attended by director Kim Jin Min along with lead actors Shin Hye Sun and Lee Joon Hyuk.

The Art of Sarah centers on Sarah Kim, a woman who dreams of becoming a “luxury brand” herself even if everything about her is fake, and Mu Gyeong, the man who tracks her desires and hidden identity. Shin Hye Sun takes on the role of Sarah Kim, an enigmatic figure whose past and intentions remain unclear, while Lee Joon Hyuk stars as Mu Gyeong, a detective driven by obsession as he follows every trace she leaves behind.

The reunion is particularly meaningful as it marks their first project together since tvN’s Stranger (2017). Shin Hye Sun joked, “Even after all this time, he’s still handsome,” adding that working with Lee made the set feel comfortable and familiar. Lee Joon Hyuk returned the praise, saying he felt reassured knowing Shin had chosen the project, noting his deep trust in her as an actress. He also shared that they promised to reunite again in their 50s, hopefully playing an elderly married couple who live quietly together without scandal, drawing smiles from everyone present.

The series is also the latest work by director Kim Jin Min, known for Netflix hits such as Extracurricular and My Name. He described The Art of Sarah as a drama that reflects deeply on human desire, adding that the unpredictable storyline immediately intrigued him. Praising the cast, Kim said he felt fortunate to work with Shin Hye Sun and Lee Joon Hyuk, recalling moments on set when their intense focus left him genuinely amazed. He even joked that he hopes both actors land major commercial deals after the show’s success, saying he feels indebted to them.

Netflix’s The Art of Sarah is set to premiere on February 13 at 5 p.m. KST, raising expectations for a gripping psychological battle between desire, identity, and pursuit rather than a conventional love story.
