The final episode of KBS 2TV’s “The Matchmakers,” which aired on December 25th, depicted the reunion of Shim Jung-woo (Rowoon) and Jung Soon-deok (Jo Yi-hyun).
In this episode, Shim Jeong-woo, who protected Jeong Soon-deok despite the king’s (Cho Han-cheol) accusation, was finally given a poison.
A reversal plot was revealed, as Shim Jeong-woo survived thanks to the king’s consideration. Waking up after 10 days, Shim asked about Jeong Soon-deok’s whereabouts, but she had already passed away on his own. To this, Shim responded, “I can’t believe it.”
However, the truth was Chung Soon-deok was alive. “This must be a dream. If it’s a dream, I don’t want to wake up,” said Shim Jeong-woo, who reunited with Chung at his old home. In response, Chung said clearly, “This is not a dream.”
Only then did Shim Jung-woo share his longing with Chung Soon-deok in his arms. The drama ended with a happy ending, depicting a dramatic reunion and a new start between Shim Jung-woo and Chung Soon-deok.
