Hollywood actress Shannen Doherty, who often shares about her cancer treatment, revealed that her condition has worsened.
On June 7th, Shannen Doherty shared an Instagram reel, which shows herself receiving radiotherapy. In the video, the actress disclosed that her cancer has spread to the brain.
The video also shows Shannen Doherty shedding tears while undergoing treatment, evoking even more sympathy.
Along with the video, the actress said, “On January 5th, my CT scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterdays video was showing the process of getting fitted for the mask which you wear during radiation to your brain. January 12, the first round of radiation took place. My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life. I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at cedar sinai. But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.”
Since being diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015, Shannen Doherty has been sharing her treatment process. In 2017, she announced that the cancer was in remission, but in 2020, she revealed that she had relapsed and was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
Back on October 8th, 2021, Shannen shared a video of herself with a nosebleed and shaved head along with the caption, “I hope I encourage people to get mammograms, to get regular checkups, to cut thru the fear and face whatever might be in front of you”.
The actress also shared how she wore funny pajamas and was able to laugh at herself, adding, “Finding humor helped get me thru what seemed impossible. I hope we all find humor in the impossible.”
In January, she and her husband divorced after 12 years of marriage. At the time, a source close to Shannen said that the divorce is her final wish, and that the actress unfortunately has no other options.
Shannen Doherty married Ashley Hamilton in 1993, but they divorced after a year. In 2002, she tied the knot with Rick Salomon, but that marriage also ended after a year. The actress got married to her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko, in 2011.
Meanwhile, Shannen Doherty gained popularity in Korea through the 1990s drama “Beverly Hills, 90210.” She also made a significant impact in movies such as “Heathers” and “Back in the Day”.
