SEVENTEEN’s Younger Brother Group TWS Faces Logo Plagiarism Controversy

On January 2, the custom-made watch strap brand “TWM Strap” claimed through its official Instagram account that TWS had plagiarized the brand’s logo.

“It is too similar. Ours is a hand-drawn logo with trademark rights”, the brand said on its Instagram story, adding, “Tomorrow, we will make a report on trademark infringement through a lawyer.”

It is known that TWM Strap also left a comment on TWS’ official SNS, stating, “It seems like they used a similar trademark. It looks like you subtly modified and copied the logo that we have already registered and drawn by hand. Please contact us regarding this matter. We will take legal action.”

In response to this logo plagiarism controversy, TWS’ agency, Pledis Entertainment, simply said that they are doing an internal investigation.

Previously, TWS’s slogan, “Always connected”, also came under fire by ENHYPEN fans, who claimed that it is too similar to ENHYPEN’s slogan, “1, 2, CONNECT”.

On the other hand, TWS is the first boy group launched by Pledis Entertainment after SEVENTEEN and the first rookie group to debut under HYBE Labels in 2024. The name “TWS” is an abbreviation of “TWENTY FOUR SEVEN WITH US”.

On January 2, they released a pre-release single, “Oh Mymy: 7s”, and is set to officially debut in the music industry on January 22.
