Seungkwan of SEVENTEEN revealed various photos with his best friend, the late Moonbin, and conveyed his love via a long letter.
On April 28th, SEVENTEEN Seungkwan published various photos of himself with ASTRO Moonbin. In the photos, Seungkwan, Moonbin, along with their various friends, can be seen smiling in affectionate poses, proving a strong relationship.
In addition, Seungkwan also wrote a long caption, conveying immense love for his late best friend. The full letter is as below:
“You were someone who made me see the world differently. It’s hard to get along with someone this well.
We walked for hours with no destination, captured pretty views in our camera, got lost in thought looking at the night sky, sang in the streets while drunk on alcohol.
You always charged my phone for me when I fell asleep drunk. You said we should exercise even during a downpour, so we climbed Namsan while getting drenched by the rain.
If we ordered some late-night food because we suddenly have cravings and then slept, we’d send each other photos the next morning to compare who’s more bloated. When we ate, you’d look at me with content and say ‘father you’re eating so well’. (father seems to be a nickname Moonbin uses for Seungkwan).
We’ve laughed at useless things, got red in the face and fought about useless things, and didn’t contact each other despite feeling sad because we let our pride get in the way, but eventually missed each other and apologized. We’d make up and have even more fun after that, as if our fights never happened. We worked hard as much as we played hard.
You’re admirable for doing that so well. You monitored me more attentively than anyone and respected me more than anyone. You were kind and well-mannered to everyone around me, so if you ever came up, everyone would praise you. You were happy and sad for me for every moment, as if my emotions were yours.
To my friend Bin, to whom saying ‘I love you’ is never awkward or embarrassing, and who hugged and comforted me until the very end, it’s not a tad bit enough to just say you are a good person.
You’re my lifelong pride. Given all of this, I can live with pride, saying that I was your closest friend, right? If I want to see you, I can see you. If I want to hear you, I can hear you. I really believe you’re looking after me from heaven.
You’re going to monitor me during this promotion too right? I am going to reflect on your feedback, so please look after me. I’m going to get through this somehow, while thinking you’re watching me.
I am so honored to be your friend and thank you for being my friend. Thank you again for making me learn and feel so many things.
Just be whoever you want to be up there. Let go of the responsibilities, pressures, and guilt. Do everything you want to do, and wait for me. I’m going to bear with everything and live on. I’m going to take care of your loved ones and live while making a lot of memories, so that our memories don’t become a blur, not even for a little bit.”
I will talk about all the memories I hold with you for at least everyone who loved you. In those moments, I hope you can be content and watch over us while smiling. If there’s anything you need, come to me in my dreams. Even in the next life, you are my friend, no matter what. See you up there! I will hug you tightly the moment I see you. I love you a lote. On the other hand, it is known that Seungkwan and Moonbin, who were both born in 1998 are extremely close same-aged friends.
Moonbin passed away on April 19th at the age of 25, and his funeral was held on the April 22nd.
