SEVENTEEN‘s Dino has candidly shared that he once seriously considered leaving the group, opening up about the emotional burden he carried as the youngest member.
During a recent appearance on Ahn So Hee’s YouTube channel, the idol reflected on his trainee days, life with SEVENTEEN, and the turning point that changed his relationship with his fellow members.
Dino revealed that he moved to Seoul at just 14 years old and has spent the past 14 years living alongside SEVENTEEN’s members. While growing up together strengthened their bond, he admitted that sharing daily life with such a large group was not always easy. Learning to understand each member’s different personality proved challenging, especially as the team’s youngest member.
The singer revealed that when he was 20 years old, he reached a breaking point and even told the members that he intended to leave the group.

According to Dino, he felt intense pressure to constantly maintain the image of being hardworking and dependable. As the youngest member, he often kept his emotions to himself until he could no longer bear the weight of those expectations. “I reached my limit.”
Instead of leaving, Dino decided to gather the older members together and openly share how he had been feeling. That emotional conversation ultimately became a major turning point for the group. By speaking honestly, the members were able to better understand one another and deepen their communication, helping Dino regain confidence in staying with SEVENTEEN.
Dino also shared that interacting with CARATs, SEVENTEEN’s fandom, has been one of the biggest sources of strength throughout his career. He explained that the love and support from fans helped him through difficult moments and motivated him to continue growing.

Looking ahead, Dino said he hopes to continue discovering his own identity through both SEVENTEEN’s group activities and his solo projects.
The heartfelt confession comes shortly after PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed that all 13 members of SEVENTEEN renewed their exclusive contracts with the agency, reaffirming the group’s commitment to continuing activities together.
Dino’s story has resonated with many fans, offering a rare glimpse into the emotional challenges behind life as one of K-pop’s longest-running idol groups.
