A club in Cambodia that once drew attention due to a controversial visit by former BIGBANG member Seungri has officially closed its doors, amid intensifying international scrutiny of the Chinese-backed conglomerate Prince Group.

According to a CBS No Cut News report on October 21, Prince Brewing a club and pub reportedly operated under Prince Group has ceased operations. The venue is now under new ownership, with plans for reopening underway.

The club previously made headlines when a video surfaced of Seungri during his visit. In the clip, Seungri reacted to concerns about his trip to Cambodia by saying, “People told me Cambodia is dangerous and poor. I told them, ‘Eat s and shut up come here and see what Cambodia really is.’” He then praised the country as “the most amazing in Asia.”

While the exact relationship between Seungri, Prince Brewing, and Prince Holdings remains unverified, sources indicate that Prince Brewing has typically operated as a local brewery and pub brand with no confirmed ties to Seungri himself.

Prince Group, led by Chinese national Chen Zhi, has been a dominant force in Cambodia’s economy through investments in real estate, finance, and food industries. However, the conglomerate is now at the center of serious allegations, including human trafficking, online scams, and illegal detention. In response, both the United States and United Kingdom have imposed joint sanctions against the group and its chairman.

Seungri, once a beloved member of BIGBANG, exited the group following his central role in the “Burning Sun scandal.” He was later convicted on nine criminal charges, including prostitution mediation, gambling, foreign exchange law violations, and embezzlement, receiving an 18-month prison sentence. He completed his sentence and was released from Yeoju Prison in February 2023.

Since then, Seungri has been spotted in various Southeast Asian countries, prompting speculation that he might be involved in nightclub ventures abroad. Addressing the rumors in a past interview, he firmly denied such claims, stating, “It’s not true that I’m leaving Korea. After everything that happened with clubs, why would I go back into that business?”

The closure of the club he once visited, in the context of ongoing investigations into Prince Group, adds another layer to the post-scandal chapter of Seungri’s life and raises fresh questions about the ties between celebrity appearances and controversial business networks.
