On March 6, Kep1er’s agencies WAKEONE and KLAP Entertainment released a lengthy statement through their official social media channels titled “Notice Regarding Kep1er’s Future Activities and Member Seo Young-eun.”
In the announcement, the agencies confirmed that Kep1er will continue promotions with six members: Choi Yujin, Shen Xiaoting, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru Ezaki, and Huening Bahiyyih. At the same time, they announced that Seo Young-eun, who had been part of the group since its debut in 2022, would be concluding her journey with the team.

According to the agencies, both sides spent a long period discussing the direction of Seo Young-eun’s future activities. After careful and thoughtful conversations, they ultimately decided that it would be best for her to step away from the group. The remaining members also expressed their respect for her decision, sending their support based on the trust they have built together during their time as teammates.
The companies expressed gratitude for Seo Young-eun’s dedication, stating that she had always shown sincerity and passion as a member of Kep1er. They added that they sincerely support her future endeavors as she begins a new chapter in her career.
At the same time, the agencies emphasized that Kep1er will continue forward as a six-member group, promising fans that the team will work hard to deliver even better music and performances in the future. They also asked fans to continue showing warm encouragement and unwavering love both to Seo Young-eun as she pursues a new path and to the remaining members as they begin this new phase together.

Kep1er was originally formed through the audition program Girls Planet 999. Seo Young-eun previously suspended her activities in July last year due to worsening health conditions, which led to her absence from the group’s August comeback as well as its concert tour.
After eight months of hiatus, Seo Young-eun has now officially decided to leave the group, marking a new beginning for both the artist and Kep1er as the group continues its activities with six members.
