On the morning of February 26, the unpack showcase for Netflix’s “Boyfriend on Demand” was held at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun in Seoul. Director Kim Jung Sik attended alongside lead actors Jisoo and Seo In Guk.

Speaking about why he chose to join the project, Seo In Guk said, “The universe of Boyfriend on Demand was fascinating. The idea of entering a virtual world itself was intriguing. The virtual setting, the CG work, and the way the story unfolds according to each theme were very appealing. The emotional shifts experienced by Seo Mi Rae as she moves between virtual reality and the real world were captivating, and my character was also very attractive.”

In the drama, Seo In Guk plays Kyung Nam, a figure who exists in the real world and is both Mi Rae’s colleague and rival at work. “Kyung Nam is known as a ‘work genius’ in the company,” he explained. “He may seem cold on the outside, but beneath that blunt demeanor lies thoughtfulness and consideration. Since he’s not good at expressing his emotions, I’m excited to see how his dynamic with Seo Mi Rae develops.”

When asked about his chemistry with Jisoo, Seo In Guk said warmly, “This was my first time working with Jisoo, and she’s much funnier and more humorous than I expected. The atmosphere on set always started with laughter and ended with laughter.”

He added, “It was such a happy filming experience. I think she has a very lovable charm. The Seo Mi Rae that Jisoo created feels even more adorable than the version written in the script. When she looks exhausted in certain scenes, it makes you want to hug her.”

Boyfriend on Demand” is a romantic comedy about Mi Rae (played by Jisoo), a webtoon producer worn out by real life who subscribes to a virtual dating simulation service and experiences romance firsthand. In addition to Seo In Guk’s Kyung Nam, the virtual world features a variety of “boyfriend” characters portrayed by Seo Kang Joon, Lee Soo Hyuk, Ong Seong Wu, Lee Jae Wook, Lee Hyun Wook, Kim Young Dae, Jay Park, and Lee Sang Yi.

The series premieres on Netflix on March 6.
