Fans of Seo Hyun-jin can rejoice: her next romantic drama is finally coming. JTBC has confirmed that its Friday drama “Love Me” (written by Park Eun-young & Park Hee-kwon, directed by Jo Young-min) will premiere on December 19, accompanied by the first teaser poster featuring Seo Hyun-jin.
Love Me tells the story of a seemingly ordinary family, each carrying their own past wounds, as they embark on journeys of love and personal growth. Director Jo Young-min, praised for capturing the delicate textures of relationships in the Netflix series Eun-jung and Sang-yeon, brings his signature visual storytelling to the series. Leading the drama is the “melodrama master” Seo Hyun-jin, who promises to deliver her trademark nuanced performance.
Seo Hyun-jin plays Seo Jun-kyung, an obstetrician whose professional success and stunning appearance make her a “wannabe single” icon. Yet beneath the surface lies deep loneliness, stemming from a traumatic family incident seven years ago. She has lived her life carefully, keeping her true emotions hidden. That solitude begins to soften when Joo Do-hyun (played by Jang Ryul), her next-door neighbor, unexpectedly stirs new feelings in her heart. Through quiet moments of connection, Jun-kyung slowly learns to love again and opens up to both family and romance.
The teaser poster released on November 12 captures this turning point. Jun-kyung’s gentle smile and the tagline “I decided to love wholeheartedly” hint at her emotional awakening and willingness to embrace love and family once more. This drama is particularly meaningful as it marks Seo Hyun-jin’s first JTBC romantic series in seven years, following her acclaimed performance in The Beauty Inside. Known for her versatile portrayals and emotional depth, Seo Hyun-jin’s return to melodrama is highly anticipated, promising to captivate audiences with a fresh yet familiar warmth.

Love Me is based on the Swedish series of the same name created by Josephine Bornebush and has previously been remade in Australia under the title Love Me (BINGE/FOXTEL). JTBC will air the first and second episodes back-to-back on December 19 at 8:50 PM KST.
