Actress Kim Sae-ron has once again become the subject of gossip due to her Instagram post
In the early morning of March 24th, Kim Sae-ron uploaded a photo to her Instagram story showing her and Kim Soo-hyun in a close pose. Although the photo was deleted three minutes later, rumors of a romantic relationship spread like wildfire due to the intimate atmosphere between the two.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency Gold Medalist stated, “Rumors of a romantic relationship between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron are groundless. The photo circulating online appears to have been taken during the time when they were under the same agency in the past, and the intention behind Kim Sae-ron’s action is entirely unknown.“
They added “Due to this photo, there are numerous unnecessary misunderstandings and speculations about the actor. Our agency will strongly respond to any malicious defamation and insulting posts through legal representatives“, concluding with a request to refrain from baseless rumors and speculative posts.
With Kim Soo-hyun’s agency taking a firm stance, the rumors of their romantic involvement were ultimately put to rest as a mere happening. However, concerns have arisen in the entertainment industry about whether this situation might affect viewers’ immersion in Kim Soo-hyun’s ongoing tvN drama “Queen of Tears”.
“Queen of Tears” depicts the dizzying crisis and miraculous rekindling of love between Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), a third-generation chaebol heiress of Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun), the son of farmers from Yongdu-ri, and their three years of marriage.
In the episode aired on March 23rd, a scene where Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won kiss each other’s lips while shedding tears aroused viewers’ excitement. Some speculated that Kim Sae-ron’s posting of the photo immediately after Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won’s kissing scene was a gesture of jealousy.
Kim Sae-ron previously uploaded a post on Instagram in November 2022 but promptly deleted it. The photo contained a drawing by Kim Sae-ron herself along with an electronic cigarette.
Especially considering that this is Kim Sae-ron’s first post in six months since the drunk driving controversy in May 2022, some have criticized her action as reckless.
Kim Sae-ron was involved in a legal case after being accused of drunk driving near Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul in May 2022, where she collided with transformers, guard rails and street trees before leaving the scene. She was fined 20 million won by the court.
