“I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself,” Selena Gomez clapped back at haters that targeted her about her weight gain

Selena Gomez addressed the hate she received about her new image due to her condition.

On February 16th, Selena Gomez hosted a TikTok Live  where she received malicious comments saying she gained weight after attending the “Golden Globe Awards” that went as, “If you didn’t tell me your name, I almost couldn’t recognize you.”

In response, Selena Gomez explained it was due to the drugs she was taking to treat lupus. She said, “[When I’m taking it, I] tend to hold a lot of water weight, and that happens very normally. When I’m off of it, I tend to lose weight.”

She went on to criticize the haters, saying, “I just want people to know that you’re beautiful and you’re wonderful,” adding, “My medications are important, and I believe they are what helps me.” Whether her medications might make her add on some weight, Selena believed, “I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself.”

The “Wizards of Waverly Place” star also affirmed her stance, “Not a model and never will be. And I think they’re awesome. I just, I’m definitely not that,” said the “Wolves” singer.
