That day, Jang Dong Sun cautiously revealed his past, saying “I’m going to tell my story honestly”.

He slowly opened up, saying “I’m talking about kids like Park Yeon Jin in Netflix’s drama ‘The Glory’. They say things like ‘There’s a reason why other children are bullied’. I also experienced school violence.”

Recalling his painful memories, Jang Dong Sun confessed, “I came back to Korea from Germany”, adding “There were kids like Park Yeon Jin in Germany. They bullied me, saying ‘He’s different from us. His hair is black while we are blond. How can a dirty kid like him try to be part of us?’.”

He explained, “I was so scared of being ostracized. The moment someone puts a label on you, the way people look at you changes. There are also many people who either ignore or join the bullying.'”

Revealing that he continued to suffer bullying even after returning to Korea, Jang Dong Sun confessed, “There was a kid who got ostracized. I experienced the same thing before so I sympathized with that friend. We became friends but he suddenly acted strange. He started dissing me in front of other friends and saying things like ‘Hey, get me some bread’. He then physically abused me and that’s how I became a bread delivery boy and a victim again. A friend who used to be a school violence victim became a bully”.

He added, “In the end, I transferred to another school in Korea”. As a brain scientist, Jang Dong Sun revealed the result of his analysis on school violence, saying “Being bullied leaves a huge scar, a significant emotional impact and causes changes to the victim’s brain”.
