On May 17, Ryu Seung Ryong uploaded photos from his recent appearance at the Baeksang Arts Awards through his social media account.
In particular, one photo quickly drew attention because of the striking comparison between Ryu Seung Ryong and actress Go Youn Jung sitting in front of him. Despite the camera perspective, Ryu Seung Ryong’s noticeably larger head size became the unexpected focus of the image, creating laughter among fans online.
The actor also reacted to the moment himself, jokingly writing, “I can’t believe I was sitting behind her,” amusing netizens with his self-aware humor.

Meanwhile, Ryu Seung Ryong recently took home the Grand Prize in the television category at this year’s Baeksang Arts Awards for JTBC drama The Dream Life of Mr. Kim.
In the drama, Ryu Seung Ryong portrayed Kim Nak Soo, a veteran manager at a large corporation. The actor seamlessly balanced comedy and sincerity while delicately depicting the character’s emotional journey toward discovering his “true self.”
His realistic portrayal of the struggles faced by middle-aged Korean fathers deeply resonated with viewers, with many audiences saying the performance reminded them of real-life “Mr. Kims” around them. Through his nuanced acting, Ryu Seung Ryong successfully captured the many layers of the character.

During his acceptance speech, the actor delivered a heartfelt message that also gained attention online.
“Saving someone doesn’t require something grand or far away. I think it can simply come from sincere words like ‘I’m sorry,’ ‘It’s okay,’ ‘Thank you,’ ‘I love you,’ or ‘That could happen.’ If we empathize, forgive, and find courage within the ordinary moments given to us every day, I believe we can become gifts to one another,” he shared.
