In 2022, Ryu Jun-yeol appeared on the broadcast of YouTuber “Calm Down Man (Lee Mal-nyeon)” for the promotion of the movie “The Night Owl” alongside Park Jung-min.

Ryu Jun-yeol mentioned that he is practicing “Zero waste”. Zero waste is a set of principles focused on waste prevention that encourages redesigning resource life cycles so that all products are reused.

Ryu Jun-yeol emphasized that he does not use disposable products as part of Zero waste. Park Jung-min also testified, “When Ryu Jun-yeol is at the filming site, he uses a food tray instead of disposable items.”

When Calm Down Man asked “Do you wash the dishes again when you go home?“, Ryu Jun-yeol chuckled and replied, “No. My manager does the dishes.”

Regarding this, Park Jung-min and Calm Down Man agreed, “Your manager also practices Zero waste together with you”, “From the Earth’s perspective, whoever washes the dishes is the same.”

Subsequently, this scene spread on online communities, leading to controversy.

While some expressed the opinion that if both parties agreed, there would be no problem, most comments criticized, “Washing dishes is not the manager’s job“, “I don’t know whether the manager does the dishes to practice Zero waste. It’s a little strange to ask your manager to do the dishes“…

Ryu Jun-yeol’s agency C-JeS Entertainment did not release any specific statement regarding this matter.

Meanwhile, on March 15th, Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee were spotted in Hawaii, sparking dating rumors.

Both agencies stated “Since it’s their private lives, it’s difficult to confirm“, but when Ryu Jun-yeol’s ex-girlfriend Hyeri left a post on her Instagram saying “It’s interesting“, rumors about Ryu Jun-yeol’s transit love emerged.

In response, Han So-hee posted a message seemingly targeting Hyeri, saying, “I neither like anyone who is already dating nor give them a chance as a friend. I don’t care and don’t interfere with other people’s relationships. I like the program ‘Transit Love’ but there’s no such thing in my life. I find it interesting, too.”
