In a recent interview with Good Morning America, American songwriter and One Republic’s lead vocalist Ryan Tedder created a buzz among fans as he confirmed that he worked on new music with BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Rosé during the girls’ visit to Los Angeles last year.
Ryan Tedder said, “All I can confirm is that I have worked on BLACKPINK material. I did write with the girls themselves. I did one of the only sessions they’ve done outside of Korea, with Jennie and Rosé.”
He continued to raise fans’ anticipation by revealing that at least one song he wrote with Jennie and Rosé was included in BLACKPINK’s upcoming album. He also added that the songs sound “cool as hell” so fans should definitely stay tuned for the official release.
Ryan Tedder said, “I think one or two of my songs have made the album from what I’ve been told. And the stuff that I did with them is very true to their sound. They wrote it so it was just me supporting them, their ideas.”
He went on to show his love for BLACKPINK members, saying, “They’re phenomenal, they’re so sweet, they’re so talented. I’m a huge BLACKPINK fan. Their posters are all over my wall.”
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has been confirmed to make their long-awaited comeback this August after almost 2 years with no new music as a group. BLACKPINK will also go on a world tour by the end of this year.
