BTS member Jimin received a special guitar gift from Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken in “Barbie.”
On July 19th, Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken in the movie “Barbie,” sent a special video message to Jimin through social media. In the video, Ryan Gosling admitted, “I realized that the Ken outfit I wore in ‘Barbie’ is similar to the one Jimin wore in ‘Permission to Dance,’ and Jimin wore it first and it suits him the best.“
Ryan Gosling continued, “There is an unspoken Ken tradition. If I imitated another Ken’s style, I should give my most precious item to that Ken.”
He added, “I would love for you to receive Ken’s guitar as a small gift. Besides, Ken doesn’t actually play it well, so it would suit you much better.” With that, he presented the guitar from the movie to Jimin as a surprise gift.
The outfit that Ryan Gosling mentioned is the cowboy-style black jacket reminiscent of the one worn by Jimin in BTS’s “Permission to Dance” MV, which was released in 2021. It perfectly synchronizes with the one worn by Ryan Gosling as Ken in “Barbie.”
The video quickly gained attention and became the most-liked and retweeted post on the official “Barbie” Twitter account in less than 30 minutes after its release.
It also received coverage from top media outlets worldwide, such as Billboard and Rolling Stone, highlighting Jimin’s immense popularity.
Meanwhile, Jimin has been receiving love from the Hollywood film industry, not only with his track “Friend” being featured in the Marvel movie “Eternals” OST but also for his direct participation as the first Korean OST singer for “Fast & Furious.” Now, with the gift from “Barbie,” Jimin is shining brightly as a global icon.
