Red Velvet Joy’s experiment with balletcore did not turn out well – another Red Velvet member stood out 

Joy’s work outfit is drawing mixed reactions from netizens. 

Red Velvet Joy’s recent appearance has become the talk of the town. Following the balletcore trend, the idol wore an asymmetrical, body-hugging gray top and a pleated skirt with knee-high socks and a pair of sneakers. While the outfit gave off a youthful look, netizens believe it was not able to complement Joy’s well-known physique. 

Netizens agree that, while the outfit is, indeed, balletcore-inspired, they believe that Joy would look better in another outfit. They claim that the cross-flapping design of her top, along with the bright shade of gray, drew attention to her belly area. Nonetheless, her twin tails and light makeup style achieved a desirable effect.

• Is this the balletcore? It looks a bit different from other outfits that follow the trend; 
• I think the look is fine on her; 
• This outfit does not suit Joy, balletcore outfits usually suit those with a slender build. 

In contrast, Wendy is another Red Velvet member who gains popularity for her style. Different from Joy’s mature image, Wendy likes a more playful image expressed through brightly colored items carefully mixed and matched. She prefers casual looks that can maintain a feeling of youthfulness and energy.
