“Running Man” vs “2 Days & 1 Night” in the same broadcast time: Which long-running variety show will win?

“Running Man” is going to air at the same time as “2 Days & 1 Night”, entering a head-to-head rating race.

Originally, SBS’s “Running Man” airs at 5:00 PM KST every Sunday. However, starting from January 1st of next year, the broadcast time will be shifted to 6:20 PM KST on Sunday. SBS explained, “‘Running Man’ will be moved to a time slot after 6:00 PM for the first time in six years since 2017 in order to expand a more diverse and wider audience for the New Year.”

The production crew of “Running Man” said, “We are planning a variety of games that will be more fun and give you more laughter as we move to a new time slot. Please look forward to ‘Running Man’.”

However, some viewers are expressing dissatisfaction. This is because there have been several changes in “Running Man” broadcast time over the years.

“Running Man” first aired in July 2010. The broadcast time back then was 5:20 PM KST on Sunday. After that, in 2012, it changed to 6 PM KST, then 4:50 PM KST in 2015, 6:25 PM KST in 2016, and 4:50 pm KST again in 2017.

And again, the broadcast is now changed to the 6 PM time slot, making viewers confused. Since it is the first change in six years, viewers who are accustomed to the original broadcast time may feel discomfort.

2 days 1 night

Moreover, the new broadcast time of “Running Man” clashes with KBS2’s “2 Days & 1 Night” season 4. “2 Days & 1 Night” premiered in 2007 and like “Running Man”, has been going on for a long time. Therefore, there is going to be a major battle in viewership ratings between two long-running entertainment programs representing SBS and KBS.

“Running Man” and “2 Days & 1 Night” are confronting each other again after a long time. Attention is drawn to which program will be the winner.
