A YouTuber claimed that Running Man members Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo are getting married

On August 17th, a YouTuber uploaded a video titled “The house Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook will move to after marriage. Official announcement of Kim Jong Kook’s mother” on his channel.

The video was filled with fabricated news based on fake sources, claiming that at a concert, Kim Jong Kook announced his wedding with Song Ji Hyo, saying: “I have decided to spend my life together with the person who stood by me during the most challenging and difficult times.”

It was also said that Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo’s agency acknowledged this news.

While the news is obviously fake and made to garner views, the issue lies in the fact that many netizens actually believe and support it. Under the comment section of the aforementioned video, there were people writing things like “They make the perfect couple”, and “I support them”.

Recently, many celebrities are complaining about the damage caused by fake news from YouTube. For example, back on August 16th, absurd fake news such as “Actress Park Eun Bin was gang assaulted in the United States” and “President Joe Biden banned Park Eun Bin from leaving the country”, were spread.
