On March 20, BTS held a group live session titled “STUDIO NOTES | ARIRANG” via Weverse to celebrate the release of their 5th full-length album ARIRANG. At the start of the broadcast, RM addressed his condition directly, explaining that the injury occurred during intense rehearsal for the upcoming concert.
He added that performing full choreography would be difficult for now, but reassured fans of his determination to still take the stage. “I won’t be able to show the full performance, but I will still go on stage,” he said.
RM reassured fans by adding, “It’s not a very serious injury, so please don’t worry too much. I’m receiving proper treatment to ensure a good recovery. Since we’ve all worked hard to prepare this stage together, I hope you look forward to it.”

The situation clearly affected the rest of the group. J-Hope admitted, “We were very shocked too. But he must feel even worse than we do.” Similarly, V expressed concern, noting that fans had been eagerly waiting to see all seven members perform together. “He’s probably the most disappointed,” he said. RM responded with a sincere apology, saying he felt sorry for not being able to fully participate in the performance.
Earlier, BigHit Music confirmed that RM had been diagnosed with ligament damage and would need to wear a cast while minimizing movement for at least two weeks. As a result, his choreography and stage movements will be limited during the comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21.

Despite the circumstances, RM emphasized that the injury is not severe and that he is focusing on recovery while still preparing for the stage. The group’s long-awaited return as a full lineup already carried emotional weight, but RM’s injury has added another layer of tension and anticipation.
Even with restricted movement, his decision to perform highlights both his dedication and the group’s commitment to fans—making this comeback all the more meaningful.
