rm ankle injury bts comeback

According to his agency, BigHit Music, RM was injured on March 19 while rehearsing for the upcoming concert. He was immediately taken to the hospital for a detailed examination and treatment.

Medical results revealed that he suffered a sprain of the accessory navicular bone, a partial ligament tear, and bone bruising, requiring him to wear a cast and minimize movement for at least two weeks. Despite the injury, RM reportedly expressed a strong desire to take part in the comeback show, especially given the symbolic significance of the venue.

However, after discussions with medical professionals, both the artist and the agency agreed to prioritize his recovery. As a result, his stage performance will be adjusted. “RM’s movement will be minimized during the comeback show to prevent further aggravation,” the agency stated, adding that choreography and certain performance elements will be limited.

On the afternoon of the 20th at 2:00 PM, RM personally shared news of his injury during the group live broadcast “Studio Notes Arirang” held on the global fan platform Weverse to commemorate their comeback. During the broadcast, RM stated, “I was preparing not only for the Gwanghwamun performance but also for the concert to show you a great stage. I was practicing particularly hard that day and ended up injuring my ankle.”

He continued, “I practiced the choreography very diligently, but it has become difficult to show the full performance immediately. Nevertheless, I still plan to go on stage. Since it’s a place to meet all of you, I will focus on giving my best vocal performance.” He added, “I will make sure to show you an even better side of myself during the concert. It is not a critically severe injury, but I am being very careful with it.”

BTS is set to hold their free comeback concert, “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG,” on March 21 at Gwanghwamun Square. The performance marks the group’s full-member return after completing military service, making it one of the most anticipated K-pop events of the year.
