Returning with new album “Proof”, BTS members share honest thoughts on their 9-year journey… RM, “We put our best effort into writing the lyrics”

BTS has just made their comeback with the anthology album “Proof”, which looks back on their group’s history over the past 9 years.

BTS’s new album “Proof” was released on all music sites at 1 P.M KST today (June 10th). This is their first new album in 11 months since the release of single “Butter” in July last year.

The new album this time, which has 3 CDs, is filled with songs telling about the past, present, and future of BTS. Apart from the 3 new songs – title track “Yet To Come”, “Run BTS” and “For Youth”, the title songs of BTS’s past albums, 7 members’ attractive solo and unit songs, unreleased tracks, and even special versions of existing songs were gathered to complete an album with a total of 48 songs.

The title “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)” in the first CD is an alternative hip-hop song with a medium tempo and it reflects BTS’s musical journey and promises a brighter future. The gentle melody and hopeful message delivered through its lyrics – “You and I, best moment is yet to come” harmonized with the members’ calm voices.

The first song of the second CD – “Run BTS” contains BTS’s free yet extraordinary spirit during their debut days. Based on BTS’s identity, this uptempo hip-hop song shows the growth of the members who have become stronger and more affectionate through the tunnel of time and that they are not satisfied with the present and will keep running more passionately.

Dedicated to ARMYs, “For Youth” is the last song in CD3 and it also wraps up the “Proof” album. Using the sample from the b-side track “EPILOGUE: Young Forever” of the 2016 album “Young Forever”, this fan song begins with the cheers of fans recorded at a real performance of BTS.

Regarding the release of “Proof”, BTS members also expressed feelings through their agency Big Hit Music. Leader RM said, “I get nervous as always whenever we release a new song. I hope many people would love it. ‘Proof’ is a really special album as it is released to mark our 9th debut anniversary and also wrap up Chapter 1 in BTS’s career. Focusing on delivering a meaningful message to fans who have been with us for the past 9 years, we put our best effort into writing the lyrics.”

Jin also shared, “Since ‘Proof’ is an album that contains the history of BTS, memories of us over the past 9 years just come back to my mind. I think I will also listen to this album quite often”, adding, “There are unreleased songs in the album, and I hope our fans will enjoy them.

If you listen to the album in the order from the first track to the last one, it will be really interesting”, adding, “It was an honor being able to include our journey of 9 years in this new album ‘Proof’. I hope the listeners can have a look back on the footsteps we have been through while listening to this album.

J-Hope said, “I’m happy and excited to release an album after a long time. I want to enjoy it with ARMYs as soon as possible. ‘Proof’ is a special album that summarizes the story of BTS and ARMY. It contains all of our memories together. It carries the soul of BTS, so I hope you will give it a lot of love.

V said, “As this album contains our 9-year journey, we sincerely hope that it will be a precious gift to the fans who have always supported us and made a new history.” Jungkook said, “It feels like writing a very thick book and finishing it up.
