Yeri, a member of famous Kpop girl group Red Velvet, was accused of copying BLACKPINK Jennie by a malicious YouTube channel.
On August 4th, YouTube channel “Sojang” (original: 탈덕수용소) uploaded a video claiming that Red Velvet Yeri imitates BLACKPINK Jennie’s style.
Right after the video was released, Yeri said on the fan community Bubble that: “I’m going to do whatever I want. Actually, I feel a little sorry for people like that, who make money while demeaning others. Let’s focus on our own lives and live happily”.
“Sojang” is a YouTube channel that mainly spreads rumors about Kpop idols. Previously, it has spreaded baseless malicious information about Seolhyun (AOA), Jang Wonyoung (IVE), and V (BTS). As rumors on this channel intensified, on December 20th, 20220, BTS V even declared on the fan platform Weverse that he would file a lawsuit, directly mentioning “Sojang”.
