“Reborn Rich” viewers complain that Song Joong Ki and Shin Hyun Been’s love line hinders immersion in the Sunyang succession story

The love line between Song Joong Ki and Shin Hyun Been is receiving complaints. 

In episode 7 of JTBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “Reborn Rich”, Jin Do Joon (Song Joong Ki) directly confronts Jin Yang Cheol (Lee Sung Min) and does not tremble when he is questioned by his grandfather about his ambition to take over Soonyang. Jin Do Joon also confirms to his grandfather that he wants to buy Soonyang with his own money, not using his inheritance. With strong reasoning, Jin Do Joon makes his grandfather rethink the rule to let the eldest son be the heir. Moreover, Jin Do Joon also scares his grandfather and makes him withdraw his intention to accuse Oh Se Hyun of bribing the mayor by arguing that if everything is revealed, the public will think it is Chairman Jin who is the mastermind. 

After all the things he’s been through, Chairman Jin can only blame his eldest son and daughter-in-law. As for Jin Do Joon, he continues to push his uncle-in-law Choi Chang Je to raise his ambition to move to the Blue House and run for presidency. This is how Jin Do Joon’s company can win the opportunity to build a digital media city. Jin Do Joon’s ambition is to make Jin Yang Chul’s descendants unable to inherit in peace.

Chairman Jin’s eldest son – Jin Young Ki – is only in his forties, but his health is not good, which makes Jin Yang Chul more concerned about inheritance. After that, chairman Jin meets Jin Yoon Ki, Jin Do Joon’s father, to talk. He decides to give Jin Yoon Ki the medical center and human resource development center of Soonyang.

In the difficult situation, Jin Do Joon once again, thanks to the foreknowledge of the future, finds a way to overcome the crisis on his own. Jin Do Joon reaches out to a game channel. But Jin Do Joon does not expect that the person behind the game channel is Mo Hyun Bin – his cousin’s fiance. Previously, Mo Hyun Bin wants to cancel the marriage with Jin Sung Joon because she is suddenly interested in Jin Do Joon.

As the daughter of Hyunseong Daily, a channel capable of turning public opinion, Mo Hyun Bin brought a lucrative profit to Jin Do Joon when promising to move Hyunseong headquarters into the digital media city that Jin Do Joon built. Coincidentally, in the midst of negotiations, an electrical incident happened, the light bulb explodes and Mo Hyun Bin is terrified. Jin Do Joon unconsciously hugs and protects Mo Hyun Bin. But Jin Do Joon eventually refuses to work with Mo Hyun Bin. 

As soon as he finishes talking with Mo Hyun Bin, Jin Do Joon visits the cafe where Seo Min Young (Shin Hyun Been) works part-time. However, Seo Min Young already quits the cafe to prepare for the exam. Jin Do Joon returns the coffee coupons he collected to the cafe, saying he no longer needs to visit the cafe. After that, Seo Min Young comes to the cafe, but unfortunately, the two miss the timing to meet each other. 

The episode ended when Chairman Jin discovers that he has a tumor in his brain and that life and death only depend on his luck.

After the broadcast, most viewers are reacting negatively to the love line between Jin Do Joon and Seo Min Young. Until now, the screen time of Seo Min Young has been almost at the level of a minor role, so most viewers are confused as to why she is suddenly portrayed as a person who has a great meaning for Jin Do Joon. 

Moreover, it is said that the love story of Jin Do Joon and Seo Min Young feels unnecessary in between the interesting story of Sunyang’s succession. Shin Hyun Been plays the female lead, but some even say that the tension of the drama drops sharply whenever Seo Min Young appears.
