Kim Do Hyun’s performance in “Reborn Rich” is drawing attention.
Kim Do Hyun is playing Choi Chang Je, the son-in-law of Sun Yang Group and a prosecutor-turned-Seoul Mayor in the JTBC Friday-Saturday-Sunday drama “Reborn Rich” (directed by Jung Dae Yoon/written by Kim Tae Hee, Jang Eun Jae).
In episode 7, Choi Chang Je emerged as a new politician as he joined hands with Jin Do Joon (Song Joong Ki) to win the Seoul Mayor election despite opposition from Jin Yang Chul (Lee Sung Min). He believed that he could stand on his own feet without Sun Yang’s help, but the reality was not that easy.
Amid the fierce battle between Sun Yang and Jin Do Joon over the new Seoul Town business rights, Choi Chang Je chose to side with the enemy, creating tension. Kim Do Hyun intuitively portrayed Choi Chang Je’s suffering, drawing empathy from viewers.
In addition, Choi’s relationship with his wife Jin Hwa Young (Kim Shin Rok) adds depth to his character. Even though he became the mayor of Seoul, he couldn’t get out of his wife’s control as he always lowered his tail in front of her like a “loving husband.”
As such, Kim Do Hyun becomes a scene stealer by exquisitely blending Choi Chang Je’s soft personality among the dangerous Sun Yang family members. He has created a distinct and eyecatching character, proving his potential despite being surrounded by famous actors.
“Reborn Rich” airs every Friday, Saturday, Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
