In a display of dissatisfaction, fans of IU staged a protest outside Kakao headquarters, targeting EDAM Entertainment.
On June 28th, IU fandom is carrying out a truck protest expressing their anger towards EDAM Entertainment.
The truck banners contain phrases such as “A ghost company without phone or fax,” “No progress in lawsuits, fans’ efforts ignored, negligent work attitude,” “CEO Bae Jong Han is blocking the artist’s path,” and more.
According to the fans, while IU has been suffering from various rumors and malicious comments for a long time, the company has consistently responded inadequately.
Despite EDAM Entertainment announcing that they have been pursuing legal actions for over a year, malicious social media accounts that produce and spread rumors about IU are not being restricted. The company is also not informing the fans about the progress or results of the lawsuits either.
There is speculation among IU fans that EDAM Entertainment’s consistent inadequate response is due to the manners of executive-level employees who have worked with IU since her debut, with CEO Bae Jong Han at the forefront.
In response, fans are questioning whether EDAM Entertainment is actually taking legal actions against these malicious commenters or if they are falsely claiming to be in the process of lawsuits to avoid the situation.
Fans stated that EDAM Entertainment has been disregarding various evidence of malicious comments collected and provided by fans for mkre than a year. The company has also continuously ignored fans’ demands for open communication channels.
IU’s fandom not only demands feedback from EDAM Entertainment but also voices their opinion that they can no longer trust the company. Ultimately, fans are against IU’s renewing her contract with EDAM Entertainment.
