Reason Kim Hye-jun Almost Dropped Out Of The Drama “A Shop for Killers”

On January 15th, Disney+’s original series “A Shop for Killers” was held at the Conrad Seoul Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Lee Dong-wook, Kim Hye-jun, Seo Hyun-woo, Jo Han-sun, Park Ji-bin, Geum Hae-na, and director Lee Kwon attended the event.

“A Shop for Killers” is an action drama about the survival of Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun), who becomes the target of killers due to the dangerous legacy left by her uncle Jung Ji-man (Lee Dong-wook), who died unexpectedly. Kim Hye-jun and Lee Dong-wook are expected to show unique chemistry as a niece and an uncle.

In particular, Kim Hye-jun had to go through harsh Muay Thai action training in order to portray her character. She confessed, “It was so tough that I even thought about dropping out of the project. As time went by and the more I practiced, I gave up on that thought. I poured everything I had into practicing and acting.”

Lee Dong-wook also made efforts to digest the role of a military soldier. He said, “My character is a former mercenary and I discussed with the martial arts director a lot about utilizing the stunts used in real special forces. I’m not a genius in action scenes. I’ve only done action in fantasy projects. I mostly used swords, knives, and wires before, but this time, the action scenes were more realistic as I mainly used guns and daggers. It was a new experience to me, and it was hard to practice”.

Meanwhile, “A Shop for Killers” will premiere on January 17th.
