Psy’s controversial  “Soak Show” in Cheongju got canceled due to “inevitable reasons” 

Singer Psy’s concert “Soak Show” in Cheongju has been canceled.

Psy posted a notice related to “Psy Soak Show SUMMER SWAG 2022” (hereinafter referred to as “Soak Show”) on his official SNS on Jun 16th. Psy said, “The Psy Soak Show SUMMER SWAG 2022 – Cheongju concert, which was pushed to August 27, 2022, will be canceled due to inevitable reasons,” adding, “Many people worked together to prepare for the concert in Chungcheong-do, but I apologize for not being able to make the show comes true.”


He added, “I would like to deliver my regret to the audience who have expected and  waited for the show in Chungcheong-do, and I promise to visit you with a better performance in the future.”

Psy’s signature “Soak Show” will be held in cities such as Seoul, Suwon, Gangneung, Yeosu, Daegu and Busan, starting with Incheon on July 9th. The team has announced that they would added a night in Cheongju. However, it was canceled after three days.

Meanwhile, Psy’s “Soak Show” concert, which was delayed due to the pandemic and is scheduled to be resumed from 2022 after three years, is causing controversy as the severe drought season continues. In particular, when Psy said on “Radio Star”, “It costs about 300 tons of drinkable water per show,it sparked criticism that he is wasting water. In addition, the quarantine authorities also said on June 16th, “If the masks get wet by having water sprayed on during the concert, there is a high risk of bacterial growth,” leading to another controversy. The quarantine authorities added, “It is necessary to confirm whether the “soak show” violated the quarantine guidelines.”
