Prosecutor’s Office requested arrest warrant as Yoo Ah In reportedly tried to help accomplice escape abroad but failed

It has been found that actor Yoo Ah In, who is suspected of taking drugs, attempted to help his accomplice flee abroad.

On May 22nd, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office requested an arrest warrant for Yoo Ah In and his acquaintance, a writer from an art school, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

Earlier on the 19th, the police applied for an arrest warrant for Yoo Ah In and A, judging that there was a high risk of them trying to destroy evidence. In particular, the arrest warrant was requested based on the evidence obtained after Yoo Ah In failed to help A escape abroad.

An official from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated, “Considering Yoo Ah In’s denial of the crime after the investigation, the increase in drug types and frequency of drug use as well as the presence of accomplices, we concluded that it was necessary to arrest him.”

The police believe that Yoo Ah In has been taking drugs, such as propofol, habitually since 2020.
