A legendary scene from the hit 2006 drama Princess Hours (also known as Goong) is suddenly going viral again across Korean online communities and social media platforms.
The resurfaced clip shows Yoon Eun Hye and Joo Ji Hoon passionately kissing in the middle of Seoul’s crowded Myeongdong district while shocked pedestrians gathered around them.
At the time, the unexpected public kiss scene reportedly created massive confusion because ordinary citizens had no idea the actors were actually filming a drama.
According to reports, the production team secretly installed hidden cameras around the busy shopping district and intentionally avoided informing the public that filming was taking place. The goal was to capture authentic reactions from people suddenly witnessing two famous stars kissing publicly in the middle of the street.
The strategy ended up working beyond expectations.
Crowds quickly gathered around the actors, with many pedestrians pulling out their phones and cameras to record the scene, genuinely believing Yoon Eun Hye and Joo Ji Hoon were dating in real life.
Some witnesses even uploaded the photos online immediately afterward, causing dating rumors between the two stars to spread rapidly throughout Korea in 2006. It was only after Princess Hours officially aired that viewers realized the “public kiss” had actually been filmed for the drama.
Years later, Yoon Eun Hye personally revisited the famous scene during her appearance on the variety show Radio Star in 2022.
The actress recalled: “The director suddenly took Ji Hoon and me to Myeongdong without fully explaining how we were going to film. There was only one director standing far away, and hidden cameras had been installed around the street.”
She continued: “While we were still confused, the director suddenly shouted from far away, ‘Stand there! Take off your hats! Kiss!’ So we immediately followed his instructions.”
According to Yoon Eun Hye, the situation became chaotic almost instantly as crowds rushed toward them in shock.
The viral resurgence of the clip has also reignited old discussions about the actors’ rumored relationships over the years.
Yoon Eun Hye was famously linked to Kim Jong Kook following their chemistry on SBS variety show X-Man, while Joo Ji Hoon was once rumored to have dated Song Ji Hyo after working together during the Princess Hours era.
Despite years of speculation surrounding their personal lives, none of the celebrities involved have ever officially confirmed those rumors.
Even nearly two decades after its release, Princess Hours continues to remain one of Korea’s most iconic romantic dramas, with scenes like the Myeongdong kiss still leaving a lasting impression on fans today.
