Police to Soon Refer BTS Suga’s ‘Drunk Scooter’ Case to Prosecution

The police are expected to conclude their investigation soon and refer the case of BTS member Suga (Min Yoon-gi, 31), who is facing charges of drunk driving, to the prosecution. Kim Bong-sik, the chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated during a regular press briefing held at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 26th, “The police investigation has been conducted, and the case will be concluded shortly.”

Suga appeared at Yongsan Police Station on the 25th, 17 days after being caught for drunk driving, and was questioned on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving). During the investigation, Suga admitted to all charges of drunk driving.

On the 6th of this month, Suga was booked for violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) after being found by the police near his residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, after drinking alcohol and riding an electric scooter. At the time of his arrest, Suga’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%, far exceeding the license revocation standard of 0.08%.

On the 25th, Suga issued a handwritten apology through the fan community ‘Weverse,’ saying, “I deeply apologize for disappointing and hurting all the fans and everyone who loves me due to my wrongful actions. I forgot the responsibility to reciprocate the love I have received with appropriate behavior, and I made a significant mistake.”
