Park Seo-joon

In an interview with British media outlet The Guardian on March 2nd (local time), Park Seo-joon confessed, “When I first heard that the Marvel Cinematic Universe wanted to speak with me, I couldn’t believe it. Whether I am filming in South Korea or abroad, everything is a challenge for me. So, I did feel some nerves at first. But everyone was so helpful and welcoming that I was able to find my feet really quickly.”

Park Seo-joon is expected to play the role of Korean-American teenage hero “Amadeus Cho” in “Captain Marvel 2”. However, since there is a confidentiality clause in the contract, he remained tight-lipped over the actual details, “I’m just trying to be careful with Marvel-related questions.”

Park Seo-joon, who became a global star through “Itaewon Class” (2020), said proudly, “Itaewon Class appeared in the midst of the Korean movies and drama boom, and I got to make a lot of international fans. It was only a matter of time before the world woke up to the world of Korean film and TV. I personally feel that South Korea has been making a lot of effort and spending a lot of time creating good quality films and series, but it’s always been a bit of a hidden gem. There are a lot of good films and dramas and I want them to be recognised. I feel proud that I am able to contribute to this Korean boom.”
