Park Min-young “Reporters are fatally harsh when it comes to mistakes”
Actress Park Min-young apologized for being involved in an unsavory issue and revealed that she also received psychotherapy
After finishing filming for tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Marry My Husband”, Park Min-young recently met reporters at a cafe in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul and honestly expressed her thoughts on the work and her ex-boyfriend Kang Jong-hyun.
On that day, Park Min-young described the controversy surrounding her ex-boyfriend as “an unsavory incident, that issue” and honestly shared her feelings.
She said, “I don’t want to turn an unsavory incident into something that never happened. I wanted to convey that I won’t make the same mistake again. People might feel that my (return) is fast, but if I hadn’t done it, I might not have had this opportunity. In a way, ‘Human Park Min-young’ used ‘Actress Park Min-young’ a bit.”
Park Min-young continued, “I also received psychotherapy. But it was Actress Park Min-young who stood me up. I tried to stand up as Actress Park Min-young, not as Human Park Min-young.”
She expressed her affection for “Marry My Husband”, “People around me say ‘you have a strong mentality’, but I’m just a human like them. I was very tired. I was shattered at that time, became cautious of people, and still get surprised often even now. In the midst of my collapsed mental state, the only thing that held me together was this work.“
She also mentioned the articles that poured out during the controversy. Park Min-young confessed, “Before, I took it for granted that reporters wrote good articles. But I realized that if I made a mistake, they could be very harsh. I felt a fatal sharpness.”
Meanwhile, “Marry My Husband” is a drama about Kang Ji-won (played by Park Min-young), who was murdered after witnessing her husband’s affair with her best friend. She goes back ten years earlier and begins her second life. It ended with its highest nationwide rating on Feb 20th.
