On January 31st, Park Min-young posted a capture of the daily viewing rankings in the Amazon Prime TV Show category. At the top spot was “Marry My Husband“, the drama Park Min-young is currently starring in, catching everyone’s attention. Furthermore, “Marry My Husband” started off in the 6th place in the Prime Video Worldwide TV Show category (according to FlixPatrol) in the first week of January when it premiered, and it has maintained the 2nd place in the global weekly rankings for 3 consecutive weeks from the 2nd week to the 4th week of January.

After controversy surrounding her ex-boyfriend in September 2022, Park Min-young chose “Marry My Husband” as her comeback project. Park Min-young showed passion and effort by losing weight down to 37kg for her role as a terminally ill cancer patient, which resulted in high ratings. The drama is recording its highest viewership ratings each episode.

However, on January 15th, Park Min-young once again found herself in controversy when suspicions arose that she received financial support of about 250 million won from her ex-boyfriend. Nevertheless, Park Min-young personally posted a rebuttal on SNS, stating “Sick of it all“, and attended the drama’s wrap-up party.

Her frontal breakthrough paid off. The January 30th episode recorded an average nationwide rating of 10.7%, peaking at 12.1%, securing the top spot in both the Seoul metropolitan area and nationwide, surpassing its own highest viewership ratings once again and achieving double-digit ratings nationwide.

In that episode, viewers were captivated by Kang Ji-won’s (played by Park Min-young) refreshing revenge against her enemies Park Min-hwan (played by Lee Yi-kyung) and Jung Soo-min (played by Song Ha-yoon), as well as the new romance that unfolded without a break. Additionally, for 4 consecutive weeks, “Marry My Husband” ranked 1st in TV-OTT topicality, and Park Min-young (as Kang Ji-won) maintained the top spot in actor topicality.

The drama’s success can be attributed not only to Park Min-young’s acting but also to Lee Yi-kyung’s perfect portrayal of the “trash husband” character and Song Ha-yoon’s portrayal of the “villainess” who tries to take away what is precious to her friend.

In the preview for next week, the sight of Kang Ji-won appearing in front of Park Min-hwan and Jung Soo-min on their wedding has already aroused interest in what will unfold next.
