Park Jin-young received Best New Actor in military uniform “I will complete my military service well and come back healthy”

Actor Park Jin-young won Best New Actor at the 43rd Korean Association of Film Critics Awards

Park Jin-young won Best New Actor for his role in the film “A Christmas Carol (directed by Kim Sung-soo)” at the 43rd Korean Association of Film Critics Awards hosted by the Korean Association of Film Critics on Sep 21st. “A Christmas Carol” is an action thriller film about a twin brother who goes to a juvenile detention center on his own to avenge the death of his twin brother.

Park Jin-young perfectly portrayed the roles of twins Il-woo and Wol-woo, who were entangled in a tragic event, showcasing his accumulated acting skills and receiving rave reviews from critics. In addition to winning “Best New Actor – Film” and “Most Popular Actor” at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards held last April, Park Jin-young once again received recognition for his acting skills at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards.

Furthermore, Park Jin-young, who delivered his acceptance speech through a video as he is serving in the army, said, “It is meaningful to receive such an honorable award as a soldier. ‘A Christmas Carol’ is like a beginning for me. I want to show that I will work harder and make more efforts based on this beginning. I would like to thank director Kim Sung-soo as well as all the directors, staff, seniors and colleagues on set. I will complete my military service well and come back healthy.”

Park Jin-young appeared in various works such as KBS2’s “Dream High 2”, JTBC’s “This is My Love”, tvN’s “He Is Psychometric”, “He Is Psychometric”, MBC’s “The Devil Judge”, TVING’s “Yumi’s Cells 1, 2” and films “A Stray Goat”, “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations”. He is building his own filmography with solid acting skills and is expected to be discharged in the latter half of next year.
