Actress Park Han Byul has broken her silence about her long absence from the entertainment industry, revealing she has spent the past seven years living in Jeju and raising her two children following her husband’s involvement in the Burning Sun scandal.

Appearing on the August 10 broadcast of TV Chosun’s “Huh Young Man’s Food Travel”, she responded to a question about her hiatus by saying, “I’ve been on a break for about seven years, living in Jeju and raising my kids, who are now eight and four.”

She lightheartedly shared that her youngest is so carefree he will follow anyone offering candy, and amused viewers when she missed some of the host’s questions because she was “busy chewing something thick.” Park also revealed she recently completed filming a new movie with actors Park Ho San and Park Si Hoo, jokingly nicknaming their trio “Three Parks.”

A member of Korea’s iconic “Five Ulzzangs” alongside Goo Hye Sun and Lee Joo Yeon, she reminisced about her sudden rise to fame from high school magazine model to music video appearances, eventually debuting in the horror film Whispering Corridors.

Park married Yoo In Seok, former CEO of Yuri Holdings and ex-business partner of BIGBANG’s former member Seungri, in 2017. Yoo was later convicted in relation to the Burning Sun scandal, receiving suspended prison sentences for embezzlement, prostitution mediation, and orchestrating a gang threat.
Her candid remarks on the show mark a significant moment in her career as she prepares to return to the screen, with fans eager to see how her long-awaited comeback will unfold.
