Actress Park Gyu Young expressed her mental attitude to work on “Squid Game 2”, which she confirmed to appear in.
Park Gyu Young told various stories in an interview with Netflix’s original series “Celebrity” (directed by Kim Cheol Kyu) held at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of July 4th.
Park Gyu Young, who was previously imprinted on fans around the world as a unique character through Netflix’s series “Sweet Home”, drew attention by announcing the news of joining “Squid Game” season 2 following “Celebrity”.
Park Gyu Young carefully talked about appearing in Netflix’s original series “Squid Game 2”, “I was a little nervous when I went to the script reading. Actually, I’m always nervous when going to script readings.“
She continued, “There are seniors who are like the sky. I was nervous when I met all the seniors in person. Aren’t there many viewers looking forward to it? Just as the staff are working hard to live up to it, I’m going to do my best too.”
She calmly expressed her feelings for the work, “(When appearing in a work) I don’t only think about scale. I try to focus on what kind of character I’ll exist as in the story.”
She confessed, “I think many staff members are working with the intention of contributing to the direction in which Korean content should go in general. Seeing the responsibility they have, I try to have an attitude of never being troublesome. In a way, I think what I can do is to play my character diligently and responsibly.”
Besides, Park Gyu Young politely added “I ask for your understanding” regarding the situation in which she could not directly tell more about “Squid Game 2”.
“Celebrity” depicts the desires and mysteries surrounding people who become social media influencers, living as so-called celebrities and the people who envy them. It was released on June 30th and is available on Netflix.
