Actor Park Bo Gum is set to showcase a unique transformation as he opens a barbershop in the countryside for tvN’s upcoming variety program.
According to broadcasting insiders, Park Bo Gum will appear as a “barber” in the new show. His participation is particularly fitting, as during his military service in 2020 with the Navy’s Military Band and Honor Guard Cultural Promotion Corps, he earned a national technical certification as a licensed barber and served as a military barber. Fellow service member and Dragon Pony member Ahn Tae-gyu once shared on a broadcast that “Park Bo Gum personally cut recruits’ hair during training.”
The new variety program will follow Park as he runs a small rural barbershop for elderly locals, using his license as a foundation. Reports also suggest he has been preparing for additional beauty-related qualifications, raising anticipation for his next steps.
Although primarily known for his acting in dramas and films, Park Bo Gum has long been a familiar face in the entertainment world, having hosted KBS 2TV’s Music Bank, appeared in tvN’s Youth Over Flowers (2016), and starred in JTBC’s My Name Is Gabriel (2024). He was the solo MC of KBS 2TV’s The Seasons – Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile, where his hosting skills were well received.
Fans will soon get to see a new side of Park Bo Gum in tvN’s upcoming variety show, scheduled to air next year.
