“Parasite” pizza parlor owner Jung Yi Seo, “I pretended I wasn’t nervous when acting with Song Kang Ho”

Actress Jung Yi Seo revealed the behind-the-scenes story of her appearance in Bong Joon Ho’s movie “Parasite”.

SBS PowerFM’s “Cultwo Show”, which aired on December 22nd, featured actors Yang Dong Geun, Kim Jae Hwa and Jung Yi Seo of Watcha’s original drama “The King of the Desert”.

Jung Yi Seo appeared in the movie “Parasite” (directed by Bong Joon Ho) as a pizza parlor owner. In response to the comment “actress with a 10-million-viewer movie”, Jung Yi Seo shyly said, “Oh no”. She added, “I went to the audition”, mentioning the casting.

The actress continued, “I really wanted to talk about this”, adding “This role was not originally set in their 40s or 50s. I heard the director opened an audition for people of all ages. I was lucky enough to be selected”. 

When asked if it was difficult to act in front of so many great seniors, including Song Kang Ho, Jung Yi Seo recalled and said, “Honestly, I was very nervous since ‘Parasite’ was my first time participating in such a large-scale production, but I tried to pretend that I wasn’t anxious.”
