“Pachinko” Writer & Singers Kim Song, Prhyme Mourn Lee Sun-kyun’s Death, “It’s Bitter”

On December 27th, “Pachinko” writer Lee Min-jin posted a photo of Lee Sun-kyun and added a caption, saying “Lee Sun-kyun March 2nd, 1975 ~ December 27th, 2023, may the deceased rest in peace”.

Kim Song also posted on her Instagram a long message starting with “Rest in peace”. In her heartfelt letter, the female singer said, “Crowd psychology is the worst thing. This country and this society are leading people towards deaths, kills, and revives. There’s no one who does not get dusted, but the matter is who gets dusted and who hasn’t gotten it yet”.

She continued, “We are all trapped in our own environment. That’s why I can never guarantee my life by saying I would never do that. The environment creates the people but also ruins them”, adding “It’s not about defending sin. Since you already admitted it, you should have accepted the consequences and continued living even if covered in blood for the sake of your family, though it’s heartbroken and sad”.

Prhyme posted a picture taken with Lee Sun-kyun and said, “In ‘Girls’ Night Out’, Kang Soo-yeon said a famous line, saying ‘Since when did a detective or prosecutor control half of my body?’”.

Prhyme shared, “Time changes constantly, and the norms, standards and criteria of privacy and freedom are also changing. There’s no emotion in judging what is right or wrong in a one-dimensional way. I don’t know what result will this bring, but it’s bitter because I think it will be poisonous. I hope that all the news will show a vision of our lives, not become gossip about irresponsibility and thoughtless acts. May he rest in peace”.

Meanwhile, the police and firefighters found Lee Sun-kyun lying in his car unconscious on a street in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. The actor was estimated to have died around 10:30 a.m. The police are investigating the cause, suspecting the possibility of an extreme choice.

Earlier in October, the actor was booked on drug charges and had been summoned three times. Receiving negative results in all drug tests, Lee Sun-kyun insisted that he had no intention of taking drugs, claiming that he administered them unknowingly. In addition, the actor also sued A, the head of an entertainment establishment, for blackmailing.
