The original Korean drama “Pachinko” (produced by the American streaming platform Apple TV+) was selected as one of the “Top 10 TV Programs of the Year” by the American Film Institute (AFI).

On Dec 9th (local time), AFI announced 10 award-winning TV programs.

“Pachinko” is an original series that Apple TV+ invested $1 billion in. It has created a box office sensation in the U.S., Japan and Korea since its release in March this year.

Based on a best-selling novel by Korean-American writer Min Jin Lee, “Pachinko” tells the history of Korea through the story of a Korean family living in Japan in a period of turbulence from the 1910s to the 1980s.
