A shocking stage fire during P1Harmony’s August 9 concert at Hwajeong Tiger Dome has triggered public outrage after the performance continued without interruption.
The incident, captured in a viral video, shows large flames erupting just steps from the members during their set. Many fans initially believed it was part of the stage effects until the blaze intensified, spreading quickly and filling the indoor venue with thick smoke.
Eyewitnesses reported that the group— Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul, and Jongseob —kept performing as staff rushed in with a fire extinguisher. No evacuation or pause in the show was made, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
On Korean online forums, netizens criticized the decision to let the performance continue:
- “Is this real? The performance should have been stopped immediately.”
- “Letting the audience inhale smoke in an enclosed space is way too dangerous.”
- “What’s wrong with the organizers? The fans didn’t do anything wrong, yet they had to endure this.”
While some praised the group’s professionalism for pushing through the performance, others argued that safety should take priority over showmanship.
P1Harmony, a six-member boy group under FNC Entertainment, debuted in October 2020 with the mini album Disharmony: Stand Out. Known for their balanced rap-vocal-performance skills and international tours, the group has built a strong fanbase over the past four years. The Hwajeong Tiger Dome show was part of their latest Korean tour stop, drawing a large crowd.
As of now, neither P1Harmony nor FNC Entertainment has issued an official statement about the fire. The video continues to circulate widely online, fueling calls for stricter safety protocols at live events—particularly those using flammable stage props or high-voltage equipment—to prevent similar incidents in the future.
