The real cue sheet of the 2022 MMA turns out to be different from the one has been spreading among netizens.
Some documents said to be the cue sheets of the 2022 Melon Music Awards (2022 MMA) were released on November 26th. The cue sheets drew attention by revealing detailed information about the event’s artist lineup, songs, stage moving directions, props, etc.
However, there were no credible sources to confirm whether those documents were real or fake. The person who spread the cue sheet claimed that only a few singers, including Enhypen, 10cm, MONSTA X, Lim Young Woong, and MeloMance, sang MR/band live stages. In addition, they emphasized that other artists performed using LIVE AR, which records both instrumental and the singer’s voice, fueling public criticism.
According to the 2022 MAMA cue sheet obtained by JTBC Entertainment News, Be’O, Stay C, ATBO, Enhypen, NewJeans, Gomak Boys, LE SSERAFIM, IVE, TXT, MeloMance, (G)I-DLE, 10cm, Big Naughty, MONSTA X, Lim Young Woong decorated the stage of the event in that order. Among them, 6 artists, including Be’O, Enhypen, MeloMance, 10cm, Big Naughty, MONSTA X and Lim Young Woong, performed LIVE MR stages. Gomak Boys also showed off their amazing singing skills by using LIVE MR for their pre-recorded performance.
In the case of IVE, the girls sang “After LIKE” using LIVE AR, but performed “LOVE DIVE” with LIVE MR. This was also applied to (G)I-DLE’s stage as the members presented “TOMBOY” LIVE AR and “Nxde” LIVE MR stages. Soyeon’s self-written rap in the intro was also performed live, not pre-recorded.
Although cue sheet for award ceremonies are often not disclosed, the problem of cue sheet getting leaked always happen. Moreover, the leak of the MMA cue sheet was controversial because that version was used only by the production team, not the artists or staff. The cue sheet to inform the timetable of the performances does not include the LIVE MR/AR part. In addition, words that are used only by production team members were also found on the leaked cue sheet.
MMA has made a dangerous mistake. This unintentionally revealed the artists’ performance conditions and caused artists who did not sing live to be criticized harshly.
