Only BTS has more than 10 billion streams? ‘Hall of Melon’ unveiled

Melon, the largest music platform in Korea, announced on the 26th that it will unveil the ‘Melon Hall’, which aggregates the streaming records of domestic and foreign artists.

The ‘Hall of Melon’, which will be released this afternoon, will be in the ‘Billions Club’ category, which celebrates artists who have achieved more than 1 billion streams since debut, and ‘Million Album’, which celebrates albums that have achieved 1 million streams in the first 24 hours since their release.

In ‘Billions Club’, the group BTS was the only group to achieve more than 10 billion streams and was named as a member of the ‘Dia’ club. The cumulative streaming of BTS has exceeded 12.1 billion.

IU, Lim Young-woong, and EXO were crowned in the ‘Gold’ club, which was streamed more than 5 billion times.

The “Silver” club, which has recorded 2 to 5 billion streams, has 19 artists, including Seventeen, Black Pink, Red Velvet, Akdong Musician, and Huh Gak.

‘Millions Album’ is counted for regular, single, and mini albums released after January 1, 2023. So far, New Jeans’ ‘OMG’, Monsta X’s ‘REASON’, and Taeyang’s ‘VIBE’, which were released this month, have been listed as Millions albums.

The ‘Data Lab’ project, which analyzes and discloses music consumption patterns, will also be converted into a regular service in the ‘Melon Hall’. It plans to select artists who have shown growth every month and release data in the form of magazines.

Cho Eun-young, head of Melon Service Headquarters at Kakao Entertainment, said, “I hope that ‘Melon Hall’ will establish itself as a representative space to honor the stars of the music industry at home and abroad.”
