“Hello. This is Fantagio.

We would like to express our gratitude to the fans who have given their unwavering love to our artist Ong Seongwu and inform you about his military enlistment.

Ong Seongwu is scheduled to fulfill his military duties as an active duty soldier in the army after receiving basic military training at the training center on April 17th (Monday).

To minimize the chaos on the day of enlistment, no official event will be held. In addition, since the entrance ceremony for new recruits is a private event attended by many soldiers and their family members, we ask fans to refrain from visiting.

We ask for your warm support and love for Ong Seongwu, who will faithfully perform his military duty and return in good health.

Thank you.”

Born in 1995, Ong Seongwu debuted as a member of  boy group WANNA ONE after participating in the Mnet audition program “Produce 101 Season 2” in 2017. After WANNA ONE’s disbandment, he has been active as a solo singer and actor, and has appeared in the 2019 JTBC dramas “At Eighteen” and “More Than Friends”, as well as the Kakao TV series “Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?”. He also starred in movies such as “Seoul Vibe” and “Life is Beautiful”.

Ong Seongwu, who will have a temporary hiatus, is expected to console the hearts of disappointed fans through the JTBC drama “Strong Woman Gang Nam Soon”, which is scheduled to air in the second half of 2023, as well as upcoming movies “Jung’s Ranch” and “Starlight Falls”.
