Chinese idol Yue Yue, a member of boy group ONER, has become the center of online discussion after a video showing him confronting an alleged sasaeng fan at an airport went viral.
According to Taiwanese media outlet ETtoday, the incident took place on July 5. As Yue Yue prepared to board his flight, an alleged obsessive fan reportedly continued filming him from extremely close range inside the airport. In videos circulating online, the singer can be seen suddenly throwing the drink he was holding toward the individual in an apparent attempt to stop the intrusive behavior.

What happened immediately afterward also caught public attention. Although Yue Yue reacted forcefully toward the fan, he reportedly apologized to airport staff and cleaning personnel who were affected by the commotion. He then personally cleaned up the spilled drink using a mop, taking responsibility for the mess he had caused.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions online. Many netizens sympathized with the idol, commenting that he must have endured repeated invasions of privacy before finally reaching his limit. Others described his response as “satisfying” and argued that celebrities should not be expected to tolerate persistent harassment.

However, critics took a different view, arguing that regardless of the circumstances, public figures should avoid actions that could be interpreted as physical aggression or violence.
The controversy has also brought renewed attention to another incident involving Ling Chao, Yue Yue’s fellow ONER member.
On June 30, Ling Chao was involved in a separate confrontation with alleged sasaeng fans at a train station and in a parking lot. Witnesses said he slapped away a fan’s smartphone after it was pushed close to his face and became involved in a physical altercation.
In another widely shared clip, Ling Chao was seen grabbing an alleged sasaeng fan by the hair and pushing the individual shortly after stepping out of a parked vehicle. He also reportedly snatched a mobile phone and threw it away before staff members intervened.

Following the backlash, Ling Chao’s agency released a statement explaining that those involved were individuals who had repeatedly violated the artist’s privacy. The company denied reports of direct physical assault and added that compensation for the damaged phone had been settled with the other party.
ONER first gained public recognition in 2018 after appearing on iQIYI’s hit survival program Idol Producer. Since debuting, the group has built a loyal fanbase with its mature image and performances, quickly selling out fan meetings and concerts while establishing itself as one of China’s popular boy groups.
